CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT In the role of Construction Manager SKMG has a “win win” philosophy. With our recent merger with SUMMA Construction Management and SUMMA’s 25 years of experience in the construction management field, our new team brings together the strengths of both companies. Our philosophy of implementing an open book construction management style brings all parties involved together under a cooperative rather than confrontational umbrella. SKMG focuses on working, managing, leading and conducting business relationships during the course of a project with professionalism for all groups and individuals involved. GENERAL CONTRACTING (Stipulated Sum) As a General Contractor SKMG will work alongside the architect, engineer and owner to optimize project design, schedule and cost. SKMG negotiates a guaranteed maximum price based on design documents that reflect the anticipated scope of the project, ensuring our price meets the client’s expectations. SUMMA- SKMG also competitively tenders all trade contracts to ensure the client receives the lowest price from qualified subcontractors. Always a team player, SUMMA- SKMG is known for our conceptual strengths, skill in fleshing out design to field conditions and our continued focus on solving conflicts proactively and collaboratively rather than merely cutting costs. SPECIAL PROJECTS (Projects under 1 Million Dollars) SUMMA- SKMG has developed a Special Projects division (projects that are under $1 Million Dollars) that encompasses tenant improvements, renovations and small shells. In this group, streamlining is the name of the game. Our project manager / superintendent become the client’s number one contact both in and out of the field and can immediately respond in any situation. We are experienced at working in occupied spaces, on off-shift hours to building standards. We coordinate with our client’s vendors and ensure the space is ready for occupancy of the target set date.
DESIGN BUILD (Pre-Construction Services) SUMMA - SKMG team approach to Design Build and Pre-Construction Services includes input from experts on mechanical and electrical systems, foundations and structural detailing before construction starts. SUMMA - SKMG project teams become involved during the planning stages of projects, and continue working on these projects through completion of construction. This ensures continuity between the pre-construction and construction phases so that decisions made during the planning stages are properly implemented in the field.
